mcss8541,
You might check your balancer because you may have the three bolt holes on the front of yours to remove the harmonic balancer. So you might have to get a harmonic balancer tool instead of the 3 jaw puller, but i'm not to sure on this one.

I figured, what the heck, everything is completly original with 160k miles on it, so why not change it while Im there.

I am pretty much done with everything except getting my intake back on and plugging in all the wires (cause Im waiting on my Hughes plenum cover). It was a pretty straight forward deal... and thats coming from a BIG noob when it comes to motors. Only tool I needed to rent was a 3 jaw puller for the removal of the harmonic balancer.

I say replace the timing chain/gears and water pump while your there... why not? And if you havent already, might as well remove the intake and replace the plenum pan/gasket with a Hughes or APS kit. Cause if yours is stock than Im sure its been leaking for a while.
The plenum and plate gaskets were replaced last summer as was a new readiator, upper and lower hoses ( including the bypass hose) and thermostat. I will go ahead and replace the timing and water pump stuff since I'm in there. I was researching the parts on Jegs and Summit Racing and kept seeing a roller timing chain, what kind do I need? I would like a pretty stout one.

OK thanks! As a matter of fact I think I do. My truck came with one of those performance smaller under drive pulley's. I found out the hard way when I went to replace my serpentine belt and it wouldn't fit.
