Question Oil pressure/ oil light

Just finished up the Hughes plenum kit a few weeks ago, and replaced the oil pan gasket and serviced the tranny on my buddies 5.2 97 ram 4x4, we know the tranny is about to bite it and its goin to the shop tomorrow to get that taken care of. but today while driving the oil light began to flash rapidly, which i thought was weird havent ever seen that, and it would do it only while in gear, if you put in neutral or park it stops blinking. the pressure is fluctuating. what would be somewhere to check at for oil light/ oil pressure problems? rings? seals? oil pickup sending unit?

would that light be related to the tranny about to blow? any help on what to check for would be awesome!

Not anything to do with tranny. Likely sending unit is bad. What is pressure gauge reading?

when in gear the pressure gauge would drop to zero then slowly flutter its way back to normal pressure. when in neutral or park the gauge would read fine.

im tihnking maybe bad sending unit, bad pressure sensor, i dunno exactly?
