Best thing to do is call around and get estimates. Cheaper is not always better!

I apologize if you already know this, but if while calling around and asking for quotes, someone tries to sell you lifetime pads...

Lifetime Warranty pads = crap

The best pads out there are usually going to be ceramic in nature. Yes, they wear out, but if they wear out eventually, you know they are doing their job. Lifetime warranty pads are so hard they suck at braking, our minds just automatically think "Lifetime warranty must mean its awesomeness..."

are you sure you need new calipers ? your trucks only a 2000. i replaced pads only on my 01 back at christmas time. its got about 140k on the rotors and calipers and still stops good. you'd be more likely to need rotors than calipers.

anyway, check autozone, rockauto, napa, etc for prices on parts. calipers will be a little expensive. maybe $100-150 labor?

this is an easy DIY job. come on, you can do it.

I have found that in general you are going to pay about double the cost of parts if you have someone do work for you. Obviously this does not apply for all jobs as some things require more skill or labor. I think the front pads and rotors on my Jeep was about $100 and I did the labor myself. It took me about 30 minutes from start to finish. Replacing pads and rotors is a very easy DIY.
