Unhappy Transmission Going Dead Need Some Ideas.

I have a 1999 Dodge 1500 Sport V8 5.9L 360 Magnum with a 46re reman in it now. The tranny shifts fine when its cold. When it gets hot its a different story. It shifts when it wants to and sometimes it wont shift at all. If you have an old tranny layin around thats ok with low mileage let me know and maybe we can work out a price or if anyone has any suggestions on what to do with it. Looking for the least exspensive way to fix. Thanks.

Check the basics first. What is your transmission level like?

The fluid level is good and at operating condition. The only thing is, is that the fluid smells burnt and it makes a real loud hissing noise when the tranny gets hot.

Hissing - Tranny Temp? How are the cooler lines. May want to pull the return and make sure you have fluid flowing.
