exact same thing happend to me. Check your alternator, i had great full battery but my alt was dying so she wouldnt start. Few weeks later my truck powered down on my on the highway doin 70. That was noooot fun. Blew out all my headlights and surged my battery.

Hmm might wanna check all the plumbing including the plumbing for the EGR valve. Your guess is as good as mine tho, cuz I'm not really familiar with this problem.

My truck was doing that........not starting good, kinda rough at idle and then it just snapped out it...........weird ****

i think its the EVAP system like the CEL says. i was reading up on the whole system in my haynes manual...and the purge solenoid along with the canister actually have something to do with start up/idle/running. so i think i'm actually gonna follow what it says! lol weird.

update: well, go get in my truck on the way to work this afternoon, and it doesnt start. does the same thing. well i put it in neutral...doesnt start...uh oh. i'm screwed. well i am screwed cuz i took the alternator out and walked 2 miles to the auto parts store to get it tested. it tested out good. well, im thinking now im really screwed. what the problem is that when i turn the key now, nothing happens, no lights nothing. no clicking. battery voltage is good. im getting voltage out of the battery. but when i test the fuse box wires(the ones coming from the battery and the one coming from the alternator) i get nothing. but when i put + on the wire to the fuse box, and ground it to something else other than the wire to the alternator, i get normal voltage...so theres somethign wrong with that ground wire coming out of the fuse box right?

i know this might be confusing, but i'm actually suppose to be at work right now and im in a hurry to see if i can get this fixed. any help would be greatly appreciated.

i retract my previous paragraph...turned out to be something really stupid. but hey, at least i gave myself a crash course in removing and reinstalling an alternator under pressure lol.
