That is as good as a K&N CAI, but unfortunately also like the K&N, you can get the same thing (and some argue better) accomplished a lot cheaper with the round 14x3 kit.

No offense, but the K&N CAI isn't worth $300, that PowerFlowRacing kit isn't worth $120. You can get the 14x3 kit put together and accomplished for $50-ish, around $100 or a little less usually if you purchase a K&N round filter for it.

Heck, I got my Volant kit, which is built a lot better than the K&N and is a full enclosed setup with ram air option, for a bit under $250, shipped.

Are you going to do the Tranny rebuild yourself? I had to rebuild my Tranny and from my experience $400 is way low. Usually you get in there and find other stuff that is either broken or worn. I am just saying make sure you budget properly for the tranny. I had someone do it for me and I spent $1800 for a complete rebuild and I mean complete. Just be careful, and I know there is a thread on here about rebuilding this trans. As for the Intake I used the metal ones that came with the kit and used Blue Silicone for the front and back. The gaskett they sent with the kit for the front and back made the manifiold sit to high. If your intake is leaking and you are going to have to fix it anyway then either get the new intake or get the Plenum kit from Hughes. As for A CAI I believe they are a waste of money without other mods.

Oh, and I almost forgot, Felpro is really good for the gaskets. I was told never to use any sort of glue or sealant or anything on the plenum gasket.

Hughes / Edelbrock Intake, Fastman Dan 50mm Throttle Body, Volant Cold Air Intake, 180 Thermostat, MSD 8.5 wires with new plugs, rotor, cap and a new O2 Sensor. I also added a Superchips 3865 tuner. Now granted I know you said you do not want to tear down the motor but the intake is very easy. And since you have the intake off the TB and CAI are a breeze. This all cost me about $1500 bucks shipped to my front door. most of that was the $600 for the intake. So for about $900 you can get everything else. As for performance it is a completley different truck. There is power everywhere and it sounds incredible. I have also seen an improvement in mpg's. I am reluctant to give out new mpg's until I have had time to run the truck for a couple of weeks to get a real good idea. So to answer your question get a Volant CAI. They are easy to install and it is a closed box design which gets real cold air into the engine. As for Tuners I really like my Superchips. It is easy to use and has a lot of features that I really like. One thing to consider about a CAI, When you take Cold air and push it through the old intake it gets hot. Therefore taking away any real advantage of the CAI. That is why you see some guy's running the 180 therm(also to keep overall temp down for perfomance) that is one of the reasons I got the intake. It is an open design which helps keep the intake cool which in turn keeps the air cool. So just figure out what you really want to do and go spend some money and enjoy?

lol wait till you get those rollor rockers in

I agree on the Silicone but unfortunatley for me I had no choice. The front and back of the intake doesn't have a gaskett. Matter of fact the Factory uses silicone on the stock manifold. The silicone was for the intake not the Plenum. I do not have one of those anymore. I do agree on the whole silicone thing. I would always prefer gasketts to silicone any day. It gives a much cleaner finish to.

I think you are talking to me so here you go.
Here is where I got the TB:
http://thefastman.com/Throttlebodies5x.asp
Here is where I got the Intakeand the O2 sensor from:
http://www.hughesengines.com/Index/p...p?partid=24773
as for the CAI I bought it off Ebay from this guy:
http://stores.ebay.com/Performance-Chrysler-Jeep-Dodge
I got the superchips from this guy:
http://stores.shop.ebay.com/Rudys-Pe...__W0QQ_armrsZ1
I got the wires and plugs from Summitt and the Brass cap and rotor from Napa.

There you go I think this covers it. I hope I answered your questions.
