I can't remember for sure, but I believe I recall that 20" wheels should work fine, but I believe someone here at one point put 20 inchers on their 2WD, and they had to perform some modifications to fit them in the front. Not 100% sure though. However, I do know you might want to look at brake upgrades, as those are a pretty big step up from 16" stock rims.

You didn't say what tires you had on the 01 Ram, so I don't know what your speedo is set for right now. You also didn't specify exactly what size of 20" tire you'll be using. So, I did a quick search, and it appears the stock 20" tire size for 2005 Dodge Rams is 275/60-20.

Therefore, if your 2001 is set for 245/75-16, the most common stock tire size, your speedo will be off by 8.3%. If your speedo shows 60, you'll actually be going 65.*

My truck came with 265/75-16s from the factory, and the speedo was still set for 245/75-16s.

Default 20 Wheels

I also have a 98 2WD Dodge Ram and bought 20" wheels from a 04. Tried to get them mounted today but they didn't fit. Would like to know what modifications I might have to make. Thanks

what didnt fit?? were did you need to trim the front cap some or what? my tires right now are stock 16" with 245/75/16. Im looking for a lower profile tire that will still have enough meat on them for me not to worry about blowing going down the road. thanks man.

Default Wheels

OK Here is the answere to your first question. Your Dodge Ram 01 2WD can use a 275/55/20 285/50/20 295/45/20 and 295/50/20. All this information can be found on http://discounttiredirect.com they also have a tire size calculator that informs you of the change in speedometer from one size to another. You shouldn't have a problem on this site, the problem come on deciding what to get. As far as the 20" wheels I tried to mount, the front hub assemble wouldn't allow the wheel to fit. The rear did fit like a charm. Any advise????????
