Vents gone wild!!!
Thanks to JasonW for the vaccum tip, Ophidia for the blend door help (Vents Gone Wild) and IV360 Ram for the actuator lead.
Someone was nice enough to make the entire Ram 2001 shop manual available for us to download.
After doing so I found the following information using all of your information.
Is it possible for the vaccum leak to make the blend door move all by itself?
If so, any clue on if the leak could be in the engine compartment?
Text below from the 2001 shop manual:
The mode control **** on the heater-only or A/C heater control panel is used to direct the conditioned air to the selected system outlets. Both mode control switches use engine vacuum to control the mode doors, which are operated by vacuum actuators.
