12v power plug

Default 12v power plug

my 12 volt power plug has been out of commision for some time now now. i hve an 01 with the power plugbelow the cig lighter left of the cup holder. is there like a fuse for it or did it come unpluged or what all help would be greatly appreciated.

my 95 has a fuse I would look there first

Check the fuse, but it may very well be the plug. Very often they develop a no contact condition due to dirt/corrosion etc.

Maybe because it's a power port and not a cigarette lighter...


It's on the Accessory circuit.

well why is my cigarette lighter the same way then and In all my 02 jeep and my 07 ram the power port stays on when the key is off and the cigarette lighter goes off when the key is off

My cig lighter is only powered when the ignition is on, while the power port is always powered.

So if you put something(such as a cell phone charger) into the port, forget about it overnight, you wont be stuck with a dead battery in the morning.
