gauge sending units
Anybody have any opinions on sending units on gauges? I was thinking of getting a triple gauge pod for my dodge and am not keen on electric sending units as I have had trouble with them in the past in the past. A co-worker of mine said he overheated mechanical gauges in his stock car. Anybody have any opinions either way?
What do you mean by "overheated mechanical gauges"? How does one overheat a gauge?
Regardless, I've never had a problem with an electrical sending unit. One of the sand rails I built uses 5 electronically sent gauges, and the other has had no problems with them.

i use electric guages in my Dodge, and my Camaro uses mechanical. the electric guages are far more steady on rough roads, but the mechanical guages seem to give more accurate, realistic readings. eg. in the maechanical guage, you can see the 2psi fluctuations in oil pressure at idle, an electric guage will mask that.
