Odd Wear

Try going about 35-40 and see how it works out.

The pressure is going to depend on the weight you are carrying and the tire. Daily driving and before my bumpers, I was running 28 front and 26 rear on my 35s. That is the pressure they wore evenly at. If you're in the 40 psi area, they are more than likely going to be hard as rocks and the centers will wear first.
Your description of where it is wearing is confusing. You also didn't say if you're running stock wheels or not.

Sorry I wasn't too clear on the wear. I can take some pictures to show what I am talking about. I am running aftermarket Pacer wheels.

The best I can describe the wear is where the tread and sidewall meet but it is on the top portion of the sidewall.
