Default Gadgets and gizmos

Anybody have any experience with something like this?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=380067745898

Not so much interested in more horsepower, but even if it only gives me 1 more mpg it is worth $30. I've also seen a similarly priced gadget, a magnet-like thing that clamps onto the incoming fuel line at the TB. Supposed to rearrange the fuel molecules or something. JC Whitney sells it and lots of positive testimonials on them. Anyone tried one of these gizmos? TIA.

If you can find any evidence that gasoline molecules carry a polarizing charge, then go buy one. Matter of fact, go grab a magnet off the refrigerator and see if it sticks to a plastic jug of gas.

Not saying it works in this scenario, but magnetic fields have all kinds of interesting properties and effects. Ever heard of an MRI? It allows us to see inside the human body in ways no simple x-ray can. Just sayin'...

Yes, but MRI tech works off of the alignment of water molecules in the body. Due to the shape of a water molecule, the Oxygen atom in the water molecule exhibits a slight negative charge, while the Hydrogen molecules exhibit a positive charge. This allows the MRI machine, with it's high powered electromagnet to align the water molecules in the body to all point the same direction. By manipulating that field, an image of the body's internals can be produced.

Octane, on the other hand, is an 8 chain carbon molecule surrounded on every open side by a Hydrogen atom. Since all sides are Hydrogen, a neutral charge results.

Hey aim, is it possible to make an atomic bomb out of a glass of water and a toothpick?
Just wondering.
