Default OEM Rotors

I am looking at just buying new rotors to slap on cuz big O charges 120 to resurface old rotors which may end up needing replacement which would be even more. Im looking at raybesto rotors cuz i dont need fancy slotted/drilled (im a highschool student buying everything). Whats the big difference between the proffesional grade ($33.00 per) and Advanced technology (55.00 per)?

The biggest difference you'd see for normal duty driving is probably the $22. Paying out the nose for top of the line brakes is a waste unless it's a heavy towing vehicle or high hp car that gets driven fast.

i found this on rockauto.com
i interpret this to imply that the more expensive one's have a better metal content, maybe a better heat treat.

but here's now i look at it. do you expect the one's that are twice as expensive to last twice as long. they have to, just for you to break even.
i say go cheap.

Professional Grade (Better)
* Non Direction Finish
* No Machining Required
* Expanded Coverage
* Rust Preventative coating

Advanced Technology (Best)
* Advanced Technology NO TURN GUARANTEE
* Advance Technology MILL Balanced
* Advanced Technology Metallurgy
* Advanced Technology Rust Prevention Coating
* OE VANE Configuration

I just got slotted and cross drilled for $120, not bad. I know I didn't "need" them but they will look better with my black SRT 22"s.

ebay 4x4 front rotors

ebay 2x4 rotors

$120 Is that turning your rotors AND installation? I live in Nor Cal also and to turn a pair of rotors around here cost $25 a pair. I hate when companies try to take advantage of people. Look around at different machine shops.

It would be 120 to turn the rotors, that is if there is enough meat on them to allow for ca standards. If there wasnt enough theyd probably charge me around 50 a pair plus labor, so well over 120. Not worth it since im going away to school anyways and dont wanna worry about having to have a shop change rotors.

if the old one is turnable, i'd turn it.
i'd call around smaller shops and find somebody that would do it for $10/ea.
