Got in my first accident today in a parking lot. I was returning from lunch break and as I was going through the parking lot at about 20mph somebody threw their ponticrap grand prix into reverse and backed out of their spot without looking. His rear bumper caught a piece of my cab, front of the box, and my rim on the passenger side. Not too bad. His car got the bumper completely ripped off and both taillights punched out.

It's kinda funny, I had just finished telling a friend how I wanted somebody to hit me so I could get some of the rust fixed, only problem is, the damage happened on the back half of the truck where there is no rust!

His insurance is gonna pay to fix the damage, the only thing I'm worried about is getting the rim replaced, do ya think I can convince them that I need a new rim?

I'm gonna get both front fenders repainted while I'm in the body shop, and then later this summer I will fix the rust on the doors and add some stainless steel rocker panels to hide any imperfections. I can't wait to get a rust-less truck!

 

I would tell them to get you a new tire and wheel.

 

you gotta love people who can't drive!! sorry it happened, they should replace the rim because it wasn't like that before the wreck happened. i would definatley fight it.

 

+1 they should deff replace the rim....ANYTHING DAMAGED should be replaced, especially if going through insurance. Trust me Ive been through this a few times.

I know my senior year in high school, I was pulling into the gas station to grab some break fast. Wasnt doing anything ignorant, just driving like a sane person. Right about the time that I am pulled about half way into a stall this lady slams her little sun fire in reverse and cuts it short backing out. She hit the rear quarter panel on my truck about 6 inches behind the the fuel door.
All she did to me was put a little crease in the molding. Her car? The whole *** end of that piece of chit was GONE bumper tore all to hell, and when she hit the back of the car scrunched up and shattered the back glass. I was amazed. And thanks to that little deal, I got a whole new paint job




Give em hell, dont let em dink ya around on the repair. Besides, yo bling got scratched. How the hell yo gonna pimp with yo bling all scratched?

 

I hit someone in a parking lot today. I was backing out and my wheel when in his wheel well. There is a few scratches in his can. But it dose not make any sense where I hit him. There behind his wheel well on the bumper. I don't think I did them. The guy was a dick as well.

 

Lol I'm gonna use that line when I'm talking to the insurance company. Problem is, I didn't mention the scratches when I originally talked to the insurance adjuster right after it happened cause I didn't see them. How am I gonna prove they weren't there before? There's also a roughed up spot on my tire from the accident, think I can get a new tire out of it?

I couldn't believe how fast the ponticrap fell apart, I mean, there were parts EVERYWHERE. I was actually holding back a smile when I saw what I did to his car.

 

FYI, if you go through your insurance company you'll have to pay your deductable, that is if you have full coverage. If you go through theirs, they will probably get you an refurb wheel and if you can convince them on the tire they will probably depreciate it. You could let some air out of it before they come look at it. They will have to get you a rental while its being repaired and will most likely try to get you to accept a econo box. If you don't want that, tellem that you need to be able to transport a wheel chair and they will get u a larger vehicle.
