Gabriels are pretty good, I got the second cheapest AutoZone carries. They're nice and stiff at first, but then they mellow out into just firmer than stock.

I used go through Monroe's like sxxt through a tin horn years ago. Used nothing but Gabriel's for years. now I have Gabriel's on my 87 D100, KYB on the 87 5th ave., and the eddies on the 96 with close to 50,000 miles on them. So far so good.

Found a "buy 3 get the 4th free" on Bilsteins.

seem to be more highly recommended by several people on the forum years ago.

Just bought/installed Bilsteins this week. $216 included shipping. Thought my factory shocks were toast, turns out they weren't that bad. I can't tell any real difference between factory and the Bilsteins.

I really liked them when they worked, anybody got other recommendations?
My dad had them on his chevy truck. One of the blew out with in 10k. They replaced it for free. But they were good. At the time.

Sorry to hi-jack , but it is on topic , What is a good soft riding shock , Yes i know these are trucks and that if i wanted a smooth ride to buy a car, but when ever i hit a freaking pot hole my whole rear end jumps and makes my tires un hook. Was wondering if i replaced with softer shocks , if that would help? Any ideas , cause since this is 2wd it sees mostly destroyed road.
