Exclamation Transmission pan question

Okay so i was changing my transmission pan gasket because it was leaking and i ran into a little circle thing that i have no idea what it is, or needs replace any one know here is a picture

It's a magnet to collect any small metal shavings. Clean it and put it back in the same spot.

its really mushy idk if i can take it out with out messing it up does it need to be cleaned, if so will it reform or whatever?

or is the little ball in the middle the magnet, and the big ring all nasty metal shavings that need to be removed

the ring is the magnet, the ball keeps it from sliding all over the pan in a sudden stop, and the mushy crap is worn clutch material and metal shavings. Wipe of the magnet with a cloth and reinstall.

btw what gasket are you going to install? The cork gaskets are s*** (personal experience). If it came with 2 a rubber and a cork, i would use the rubber.

yea i got everything cleaned off thanks for the help guys and yea i did use the rubber one there was a cork one on there before and it just didnt look good so i used the rubber one every thing is back on and good so thanks

so it turns out that it isnt just my transmission pan that is leaking transmission fluid, what are other possible places it could be leaking from?

Front or rear seals. A loose/broken line.
