Default 98 Ram 1500 vs 90 Honda Civic

I'll try to get a photo shortly, but in the meantime: I was at a stoplight, the little white Honda in front of me takes off, I gently(always gentle to save fuel) hit the throttle. The Honda driver almost instantly hits his breaks, I hit mine but bump into him at mayber 2-3 mph. The guy doesn't want to call the police(a really nice older Christian fella)-says to just give my insurance info and he'll call me first if the LATCH OF HIS TRUNK STAYS LOOSE AFTER ADJUSTING IT! Why is that in bold? There was no other damage to the 1990 Honda Civic sedan. My 98 Ram? The bumper is pushed in about 6" and bent down about 4"-front to back and the plastic trim is all ripped to h@ll. So, my 98 Ram which hit a good 200# buck at 55 mph with just a slight downward bend in the bumper, has the bumper demolished by a 2-3 mph tap with a Civic? A guy in a new Ford was laughing his @ss off.

That's the difference between a mostly metal bumper and fiberglass bumper. Don't you love the way things are manufactured these days.

Damn, that sucks. I mowed down a turn sign back in November and it dented my bumper a bit and pushed it down a little, but for the most part it is still intact.

So WTF? Why did he slam on the brakes anyways? I would have been pissed that he brake checked you like that.
