Question Throttle linkage play

So I've been having a little tiny problem with bogging occasionally and I think that I've found the answer. I think there's a little too much play in the throttle cable. I'm not sure if there is supposed to be any play at all, so I snapped a pic of how much I have and I'd appreciate any opinions:

That's how much I can pull out until the cable tightens up and locks. It that too much? I know I can fix it with some vac line or fuel line zip tied to the end, but I don't know if I should leave any play at all.

Thanks for the help.

It's just both ends, and the pulley thing behind your finger getting worn . You can do the rubber hose/tie wrap fix, but I would leave a little play, about half of what you have. I don't think that's going to be your bogging problem though.
