One more question, if you do any towing with the truck, does the programmer help with shift points to improve the trucks towing ability?

I'm looking at getting a set of platinum champion plugs Friday just before I tow my trailer.

Platinum plugs do not go well with the 5.2L setup. Stick with the stocks or Autolites if they'll work.

That would explain why the double plat. didnt work well a few months ago and I went back to the stock plug since then.

No, the hypertech will not change the shift points. As far as I've seen there is no easy way to change the shift points. The othere thing is I wouldn't feel comfortable towing on a 93 setting I would definetly set it to 87 or stock. The more load you put on the motor the more chance you have for detonation but, you might have already known that.

Nope didn't know that. has the hypertech improved your trucks towing capability or did i just get rid of the well known "death flash"

It got rid of the death flash and is definetly an improvment over stock. Whenever I'm towing I run the 87 program and it does great.

Awesome. Was just asking about towing cause I'm gonna pull a 1800 lb trailer with my K20 Chevy sittin' on it. I'll just be with in max tow capacity.

Guess I can't ask for to much more from a 5.2L 1500 ram. I need a Cummins

Unless you're going to be towing all of the time, your 5.2L will do well. Maybe pull the heads and polish them out. It helps.

The only shift thats adjustable in these Rams is the 3-4 and 4-3 shift, as thats the only one controlled by computer. The other shifts are all controlled by a cable on the passenger side of your TB, and unless you're having issues, I wouldn't touch that. Anything but very slight adjustments can majorly mess up your shifts.
