Was that intended for me? I'm not sure who viper is, other than the name being mentioned on the Duct tape thread right now.

I was just suggesting a mod that I did a year back when I wanted to lift the front of my 2wd and put a better set of coils in since they were shot.

If I am not mistaken, Theres a complete 3 inch lift that will allow 33 inch tires to fit with the proper rims. It might have been Pro Comp. Your truck will sit as high as a stock 4wd ram with 285's on it.
Someone also makes/made a huge 6 inch lift for these trucks. That one you'll have to research and it comes with different spindles and control arms. The truck truly looks like a 4by with that. I have seen one of these lifted trucks in Phoenix and it fooled me.

The Viper comment was totaly uncool, unwarranted, and uncalled for...

Yea, Fabtech make's a 6.5" Ultimate Lift, a 3" Coil and Arm lift, and a 3.5" Spindle Lift, all for a 2WD. Doetsch-Shocks makes a 2", 3", 4" 5" and 6" lift. They use the same principles as Fabtech, but Fabtech has been the known and trusted brand throughout the forum. They are considerably higher in price though. And then the all known body lift, although they don;t always look good on a 2WD without a proper suspension lift to accomodate it. I've been researching this myself.

For a spring spacer, it's very simple. Just takes a few hours. I installed a 1.5" spacer, and want to add another 3", just to give it that 4WD look. So, I guess I'm a poser as well!

Edit: Check this out. This is a 2001 2WD with a 6.5" Suspension and 3" body lift.

MowHawk, I was looking at the photo why do you choose the 2 piece door vent viser as opposed to the 4 piece?
Thanks
Was on the truck when i bought it. It works so, i kept lol

what do you plan on doing with your truck? mainly for looks? or you gonna be catching some air?
Viper put a 2" coil spacer up front and he had to grind something and install limit straps b/c when extended it was hitting somewhere, but hes from socal so i believe its only cause he was catchin air......

you can get a 3" bodylift for around $200 from summit...hers some other options

you may need longer brake lines with a 2 inch lift, one post on here recently said that the 2 inch leveling kit said you don't need them but the guy had his axle extend all the way down and popped the brake lines off. also keep in mind that bigger tires = lower mpg.
