nv3500 rebuild?

nv3500 rebuild?
has anybody here rebuilt an nv3500 trannie? I have heard that they are difficult transmissions to rebuild, is this true? could somebody with moderate mechanical knowledge (did a motor swap on friends truck) rebuild one of these? Thanks alot!
