What was your MPG before?

Is that the mpg from just the intake swap, or did you do more swapping at the same time? I might be wrong on this, but seem to remember you saying on a thread that you did a large amount of swap at the same time.

Also curious why you chose the 50mm t.b. over the 52?

I thought it was only a wanted item for heavy towing though, and that the 52 was better all around on the 5.9

I want to see the results on a 2nd gen truck where it's done as a stand alone mod before I spend the money. The gains in around town driving are most important to me, and doesn't seem like they are significant.

I don't blame you there. The trucks even though they have the same driveline are different trucks. To answer the question Yes I did a couple of other mods at the same time. I did the TB and a CAI. The TB however is not any bigger then the stock just refined to flow better and the CAI is a CAI, I have never seen a mpg gain from a CAI. So yes I contribute 98% of the gain to the intake. To me it is all about flow. The more flow you get in the more power you create. I have also said that I believe the increase in mpg is due to the trans not shifting while on the interstate. Which goes back to the whole flow thing. Plus I have 3.55's which favor the Interstate mpg. As for around town mpg I have not really seen a difference there(.5-1mpg) It is hard to keep your foot out of all that power. If you want you 5.9 to run like a HEMI then this intake should be on your list. One last thing, I do not think you will ever find someone that will do a stand alone Mod on this, It is to complex of a job and to easy to put others mods back on instead of stock. I hope this info clears some things up.
