Ordered the air gap
Also for the 15mpg prior that would be highway as well. To compare apples to apples. As for around town before I was getting 11.5-12mpg
I hope I have answered all of your questions.
I'm happy that others have it and are happy. I wanted to be the first but knowing it was worth spending the money on makes it all better lol. I can't wait to have my truck back on the road. I miss the roar of the Dodge. The ex is too quiet
I don't blame you there. The trucks even though they have the same driveline are different trucks. To answer the question Yes I did a couple of other mods at the same time. I did the TB and a CAI. The TB however is not any bigger then the stock just refined to flow better and the CAI is a CAI, I have never seen a mpg gain from a CAI. So yes I contribute 98% of the gain to the intake. To me it is all about flow. The more flow you get in the more power you create. I have also said that I believe the increase in mpg is due to the trans not shifting while on the interstate. Which goes back to the whole flow thing. Plus I have 3.55's which favor the Interstate mpg. As for around town mpg I have not really seen a difference there(.5-1mpg) It is hard to keep your foot out of all that power. If you want you 5.9 to run like a HEMI then this intake should be on your list. One last thing, I do not think you will ever find someone that will do a stand alone Mod on this, It is to complex of a job and to easy to put others mods back on instead of stock. I hope this info clears some things up.
I expect someone will do the mod as a stand alone item. You're right, it's a lot of work, but at the same time, guys seem to do a mod at a time on here. Seen a few comments from guys who have the fastman, 14x3, and are waiting for the $ to do the 1.7's...in your case, you've done everything but the 1.7's.
I'm doing the fastman and 1.7's now, will wait until the plenum needs attention to do the intake, which seems like the logical time to do it.
