water pump question
I changed my water pump late last summer.
Before I came to this forum, else I would have done a DIY.
Very easy, if you can turn a wrench, you can swap a water pump.
I would recommend to take the radiator out, only 4 little bolts holding it in, you only need to unscrew the trans feed from the radiator, the trans return you can leave in the radiator, and just unscrew the other end of it - Or, if you have the disconnect tool on hand, take it out from the radiator.
A good time to replace any worn feed water hoses, top and/or bottom.
Also, check this thread if you haven't already done so

And add replacing that hose to your to do list, preferably right now.
With the radiator & shroud out, you have alot more room to work with, and makes taking out the fan easier - And while its out, you can give it a proper flushing, which itself could be part of your over heating problem.
The pump itself is simple, there is one little stubby hose that connects to the block that is a PITA to get on and off, in fact I ended up just cutting it off and getting a new one.
Just make sure to clean both mating surfaces shiny bright before installing new gasket and pump, and follow proper torque procedures, if you kill the gasket by over tightening it, you'll get a leak that'll make you present one look like a dribble.
