99 Ram auto here and I don't have to press the brake either. I like it.

If I left a little kid in my truck, He would be in the back and the parkign brake would be on...

I occasionally stop my truck, put it in park, leave it running, and jump out to check something and leave the door open. After seeing this thread, I was more aware of what I was doing.
So, I realized when I jump back in the truck that I pull it into D as I'm sitting in the seat and then shut the door as I'm rolling forward.
Ah yes, to be wild and free without the brake interlock.
