HELP!! 2000 Dodge 1500 4X4

I have a 2000 Dodge 1500 4X4. I am changing the pinion bearings and the carrier bearings. When I pulled them out, there were adjusters on either side I had to loosen. How do I get them back to where they need to be in order to work properly?
