Have any of you guys ever changed the fluid in your torque converter. Do you have to drop the trans or is there a inspecton plate. I have a 95 and have never done it sence I got it in nov of 2008. Thanks for the help

you'd have to either flush the transmission, or pull it out and remove the tc. its not worth the trouble. just drain, replace filter, and refill about every 12-24k and it'll take care of it. that replaces about 1/2 - 2/3 of the fluid.

if your fluid is really nasty then change it twice, about a week or two or three apart.

I did replace the filter and refilled truck only has 70,000 the day I got the truck I took it to advance auto parts and thay told me that the trans where dad in that year dodge rams. so thay gave me some sea foam told me to drive it for 10 miles and change the fluid. so I did and have had no problem. I should change the fluid in the T-case, and front and rear diff to.

you put seafoam in the transmission? why in the holy hell would you do that? don't do that and stop taking advice from people at advance or autozone. they may or may not know what they're talking about. and yes dodge transmissions suck, but seafoam won't fix them...

do a transmission service again sometime soon and use ATF+4 in transmission and t-case. use any 90W in front/rear diffs.

I believe sea foam makes a transmission additive.

oops. i thought you put engine seafoam in it.
i still recommend NO additives in trans. ATF+4 is the best and only thing you should put in it. anything else makes things worse.

that seafoam trans tune isn't a good idea either.

I sure it's great for a tranny that uses type F fluid, but not in a full syn.
