Whatever happened to body shops?
He's going to do both front doors, which just have surface rust right now, no holes. My quad doors are fine. Here's a shot.

He figures after blasting he'll have to do some metal work, but not a lot. Minimal damage on the back side of the door, and when I had the panels off I checked the inners and they aren't too bad.
He's also taking the inner panels off (killing my sound proofing) to spray some rust preventer on the inner doors. I wanted to have this work done before I did my stereo but got impatient.
This guy does a bit of everything. Saw him have a newer Ford GT in his shop last summer for a custom job, also does quick patch jobs for local car lots. Approached him about doing this last year and he quoted me $350, but I was there with a friend who owns a car lot, so he assumed I wanted a car lot job. Once I explained to him I was keeping the truck awhile, he offered to do a quality job for $800.

And another rant: That those B-pillar black outs are almost $40 a piece! I filled mine in with a Sharpie but it didn't last.

Those things are a rip. I paid 44 a side for the decals last summer, just haven't put them on yet. Wish I would have just waited and had them painted instead.

Go to a vinyl sign shop and show them what you want and they can make high gloss black vinyl strips that will look just like that. Should cost about 15 to 20 a side instead of the 40 something you guys have paid.
