Finished Product "speakers"
First i'd like to thank everyone who helped me out with this! I finaly finished replaceing the front door speakers and i'll share some tips.
1. The old door clips "theres 12 per door" can be reused although they look like **** when you pull em out they still hold tight and at $1.75 a clip i wouldnt go that route to replace them "P.S i bought em before i knew they could be reused but i just stuck the old ones back in"
2. I used a 6.5" round sony 80$ a pair and the highs and mids are MUCH better then stock however the bass is horrible, almost non existant. Not sure if this is cause i reused the factory amps "bolted them on to the adapter bracket" or because of the speaker themselves any thoughts?
3. Make sure you have all the stuff needed because driving around for 2 weeks with no power windows or locks sucks!!
3. When pulling off the door panels make sure your on drugs because its a bitch to get them off and painfull everytime a clip pops out.
Anyhow just thought id share
P.S any ideas on the bass issue "i figure its cause there small cheap speakers and ill just put in a small sub this summer sometime. By the way how would you wire the sub up for sound? run it to the back of the reciever???

The bass problem has 2 causes, one being that you went to a smaller speaker, the 6x9s that normally go in the doors are better for mid bass. The other being that Sony speakers aren't all that good compared to other aftermarket stuff. As far as the subwoofer, you need to use an amp to drive a subwoofer. If you still have your factory radio you would get the audio signal using a Line Out Convertor, it hooks to the speakers (usually the rear) and converts the signal to a low level signal that the amp can use.
PS: Taking door panels off hurts less if you use a panel removal tool, not your hands

I plan on in the future putting a pair of Jl audio's 10W6V2's under the rear with all new highs and mids. Should sound awsome... Will keep you updated if you want when i get the project started.
Hey Waterbug, you getting the JL stealthbox setup or building your own box. I have been interested in the stealth box from JL but havent been able to find a price. If you're gonna use that how much have you found it for?
