^ yes. if it still doesn't separate, squirt some wd40 or pb-blaster up in there and then with the disconnect tool inserted, twist it back and forth a little. in other words, lube the female end a little bit.

Yes, but the block I have on him still transferred over when he changed. Why would anyone worry about what he thinks? He never bothered to care what anyone else thinks...It's a done topic at this point though, I'll be sure to skip over the 3rd gens when I purchase a new truck.

Oh and I never had much luck with the super cheapo plastic circular disconnect tools, the sleeve on them wasn't long or thick enough to depress the clips on some parts. The metal ones from Harbor Freight work much better IMO.

That would only apply if the female end is 30 + years old, (as in 1st generation) and they don't have quick disconnects. No lube is required for newer models. However it might make pulling it out easier.
