Default New owner 2001 Ram 2500 - questions

I just purchased a 2001 Ram 2500 Quad Cab 4x4, v8, 5.9. No lifts and prefer to stay that way.

My friend is selling me his stock 2004 Ram wheels & tires and I want to make sure they will fit my truck. Specs are 265/70R17, General Grabber AT2. They look really great and I would like to get it. Will they fit? Can anyone help please???? I searched the forum for 2 hours but couldn't find the answer.

Thanks

Your 2500 has 8-lug wheels. Unless his truck is also a 2500 or 3500, no, they won't fit. 1500s have 5-lug wheels.

This is true. As far as will they fit under the truck and not rub, yes, they should be fine, as long as they are 8 lug wheels.

Sorry I forgot to mention that yes, these wheels are from a 2004 Ram 2500 with 8 lug pattern also. So you think it will fit just fine and the size won't make it rub? 265/70R17??? Does anyone out there with a similar setup???

I don't have a similar setup obviously, but can't you just hook up with him and try them before you buy them? Then you'll be sure.

Sorry, I should read posts better than I do, But, I have 265's on my stock 1500 with no issues. A 2500 will have no probs with 265's.

I just looked at my build sheet. 265s were stock on my truck when new.
