Neither, I just let cure for 30 days, and threw a coat of wax on it. The rest of the truck doesn't have clear on it, and I was afraid of getting the grill too shiny.

Damn! In the last month or so, I have seen that we have had a great number of DIYs posted! Maybe its to cure those winter blues or something, but I'm proud of you guys (and me!) Keep 'em comin'!

I will have a DIY in a few weeks to expand on this.

Tip - For those re-using their old chrome grille - You can use a 60 grit flapwheel on a drill to make getting the chrome off eaiser.

That would help taking the gloss off of the foil, but I doubt it would remove it. The metal foil that they used on these is really thick and stiff. I have no doubt that if it were a thinner material, it would have no problem taking it off.

Eh. I just heard about it being used on S-10 Forum to do the same thing. To remove the chrome off the grille. But Chevy likes everything thinner, so I could see why It would work on S-10s, not Rams.
