You both technically hijacked it, but I don't really care. Don't have much more to say on this topic until I start testing now anyway.

Going to spend the rest of the week looking into the business opprotunities of this. Kicking around creating a standardized testing procedure and building a testing lab to push it. Just trying to figure out how to overcome the fact that only 1 or two manufacturuers would embrace it, and the rest would discredit it.

Suppose that's what they make lawyers for though.

Read the 4th paragraph closely. EPA does not distinguish between bikes and passenger vehicles. The same regulations apply to both.

I thought you said you didn't care.

I'm done. I know what the law is and I have worked with the system in getting an engine certified by EPA for sale. It is an incredibly difficult process, believe me. I have also dealt with many shops that have had to stop doing certain performance modifications because they would subject themselves to fines for violating the Clean Air Act. Sure lots of people do these things because the risk of getting caught is almost nil, but that doesn't mean it isn't illegal.

Buying the fans new from Summit. Kicked around used, but figured I could probably sell them on ebay or craigslist and only lose $30-$40 a pop. Only went into this thinking I'd test 3 fans, keep one, and be out a $100, not a big deal. Once I started to realize how screwed up things were, it's turned into a more expensive project, probably lose $300 or so if I choose not to follow up with a business.

I will use a thermostat if/when I put one in.
