Question Haynes Repair Manual question

Hey guys, I was thinking about buying the Haynes Service/Repair Manual (Rams '94-'01, #30041), and I was wondering if it had any good information for taking apart some of the interior, and which parts it has info on (Like the dashboard, how to detach the steering wheel, etc.) I already have a Chilton Service Manual, and it is very vague for the interior of my truck. I figured some of you will have this one, before I waste my money on buying the same thing twice. Thanks Guys

There is info on the steering wheel, dash, stereo, and other various interior item as they relate to repairing things that require removing interior components. It is in my opinion much better than the chiltons in that respect. However there is a copy of the factory manual on here that most likely includes some of those things in it.

Haynes is sort of ok for the interior stuff. Think its better than the Chiltons. The 01 service manual is very handy but some of the interior info wont be relative to a 96. Still a good idea to download. Find it in my download section at the link below

Neither one is very good. The Body section of the Haynes opens with pages on how to sand, Bondo and primer a fender. Useless info, as far as I'm concerned, that doesn't belong in a service manual. I got the Factory Manual pdf from a link in here and it is a lot more comprehensive without all the BS on Dakotas and Durangos (like the Chilton) and much more detailed.

yeah that chilton manual is just filled with information on other trucks that I don't want or need. I'll give that service manual a look, but I doubt that I'll find much for a 96'. Does anyone happen to have anything similar to the 2001 manual, but for a 1996ish? Thanks again guys. I love this place.

The download covers most of the major areas in detail that haven't changed much from 96 -00, with the exception of braking, transmission, and electrical.
It might interest you yo know that Chilton and Haynes are both published by the same company now. Both manuals are pretty much identical, and useless for all but the most basic of repairs.

Nice post # dsertDog

FYI on the manual everyone has downloaded.

Steve05ram360 gave it to us as a Christmas gift back in 05/06. (thanks Steve) He was moving it regularly cause it used up too much bandwidth for any of the free sites to host it for very long. Since Aug07 its been on my site for download. Steve changed his post with a link that goes to the file on my site. Think its using about 5gb of my sites bandwidth a month. Page I have it on, also has Mopar wallpapers (tons) as well as Exotics, performance calculator (quicky) Dragstrip Plus software and the Dodge font (make better sigs) for use in word or paint. Few other things that maybe of interest all Mopar related
