thats what i did with my muffler for inspections,

after

i know the welds look like crap, no need to mention them.

so long as you don't get the sniffer then the shell deal works. i was told that my truck has to have what came from the factory, meaning muffler. but they didn't say it had to be a functional muffler.

yeah guys its so loud and it not a crappy loud it actaully sounds amazing, i never thought my truck would sound this good, there is a big diffrence in performance, it felt like the superchips when i 1st put that on.

they did weld right into the cutout - i have to put 2 cats in though by next year lol

me and my buddy are going to do some revs and a driving video so you guys can hear , im sure the video wont do justice but you guys will get a good idea

but if you pa guys wanna hear it in person come down to the starlight car cruise in wexford

i was wondering if running stright headers will hurt the motor .

right now im just running pacesetter longtubes with no cats ,cutout then a muffler. i heard it may burn valves, but alot of people seem to run strights on the 5.9.

when the shop did my exhaust they had to take off my highflow cat, i have to order 2 new ones to pass emmision casue i live in pa, but my prob is that im broke at the moment and cant get them. my inspection isnt till the 5 month of 2010.

so right now im currently running the longtubes threw a y-pipe and out the cutout. is it ok ???

You need some back pressure on the motors. They are made to work with back pressure on them. Not sure about damages that might happen but you do need some.

No... you don't. Backpressure on an engine is NEVER a good thing. EVER. The only thing that will happen if you open your exhaust up is you can lose scavenging. Then it won't necessarily flow as good.

I've heard this rumor about burning valves before by running straight headers, and I'm not totally sure, but I want to say it's bull****. Otherwise everyone running zoomies would fry their engine. Maybe if you were just running the stock exhaust manifold it might matter, but you have long tube headers so I'm pretty sure you should have no problem.
