that day i dd it, earlier i torqued it to 72 lbs but the bolt snapped off (broke) so i had to get a bolt extractor, andi just replaced that one. They kept on telling me that the tiny bots will expand and i should get new ones but i want to change intake so i did not want to do that, i just put some washers so the bolt could come up more.

Well anyways, yesterday i checked my oil level and i said that i was on empty, so i decided to go to autozone and purchase 5 quarts, i put it in and i got way way too much smoke from the exhaust, well at work today i checked my oil level and it said that i had around 10 quarts in there ( im going to drain some out tommorrow).

Now my question is that will the oil pump be keeping the oil on the top of the engine ( i bought a high volume oil pump a few months back)?

hold on a minute.
you need to determine (and fix) how much oil is in your engine. there can't be none one minute and 10 qts the next.
drain it all back out and start over with 5 qts. it should take 5 - 5.5 qts to fill it up.

check your oil once a day for awhile. its sounds like you're using oil so you're going to need to keep it refilled. try not to let it get below 1 qt low. if it gets completely off the stick, it should only take 2 qts to get it back close to full. but - letting it drop below one 1 qt low is VERY BAD, so don't do that.

you need to check you oil pressure sending unit as well. it stands straight up behind the intake manifold.

And download this and start following the torque specs and recommended torque sequences. My guess is still the plenum gasket, BTW.

dhvaughan, so what you are trying to say is that the dipstick will not show you the whole 5 quarts.

that is correct.

if you look at the "safe" section of the dip stick, that's one quart. so if you lay off that distance down the rest of the dipstick, it will show one more, possibly one and a half more quarts, and then you run out of dipstick.

so if your oil level is off the dipstick, then you're very low, and risking burning up your motor, but you're not necessarily out of oil (yet). your oil pressure and warning light will tell you when that happens.

It sounds to me like you were relying on the gauge soley to determine whether or not you had enough oil in your engine and didn't actually check it with the dip stick before adding the oil you purchased from autozone. That would explain why you ended up with so much oil in your engine. i am surprised you didn't hydrolock your engine with that much oil in there. Dhvaughan is right that you should drain your oil and start over with the correct amount of oil. aims4squirrels is right that you should replace your oil sending unit so that it reads correctly and you don't do this again. I would consider you lucky that you didn't do severe damage by having that much oil in there. It also sounds like from your description that your engine burns oil. That is most likely either your plenum gasket leaking or your valve seals are leaking. Either of those are an easy fix.
