Default What makes the Off-Road Model different from a regular 4x4?

I've been trying to find lift kits, but many (especially the cheapest one I'm interested in.....the 5' Rough Country) won't fit on the Off-Road Package.

I haven't been able to find a reason WHY it won't fit.... does anyone know?

The Off Road package had the following options compared to normal 4x4s:

-4.10 gears (normal was 3.55 or 3.92 usually)
-2" lift
-Slightly longer, reinforced front differential
-Unique Off Road edition rims
-Off Road decals
-Rear limited slip differential

If I missed any, others will pipe up with them.

The reason they claim their 5" lift won't work is because you already have a 2" lift. You may be able to put a 5" lift if its done properly... new springs and rear blocks to replace your 2" lift springs and blocks. You'd only get a 3" lift from what you have now, but thats 5" total over a stock 4x4.

Do you think I should go after the Rough Country lift then?

it looks like you already have 3" spacers in the front. you wont see any difference between your "off-road" coils + 3" spacer, and the roughcountry 5" coils.

the kit most likely comes with 3" rear blocks, so overall, if you install the roughcountry 5" lift, the only difference you will see would be a 1" lift in the rear.

To get the 5" lift you seem to be looking for you would need to purchase and install an 8" lift to gain the 5 inches over where your truck sits now.

Your off road is the only one I've seen with deer antlers growing out of the cab...that's about as unique as they come imo.

And if you have a 3 inch suspension lift that used spacers with your springs, your truck is the same heigth as a standard ram with a 5 inch lift. So putting a five inch lift with new springs will not lift your off road much if at all. I apologise for the redundacy.

If your truck is the stock suspension, you could go with front coil spacers, and AALs in the rear, so your truck would be 4-5 inches taller than stock, plus it would be really cheap.
