1996 dodge ram 1500 versus 1996 dodge ram 2500
You should be fine. I pull my big *** boat around with my 01 1500 360 4x4 and it dose well for a 1500 pulling around 10,000 lbs. I pull it in the MO/AK area and theres a rather large area of BIG hills up and down. My boat trailer has drum breaks on all 6 wheels though so IDK how mutch a diff your going to feel.

According to the specs, 8300 is the max for any 1500 to tow.

Yes, you have a big bad truck.. We get it. Just don't be pulling that **** around other people. That is how major accidents happen on the road, and sadly, it is usually an innocent person that gets snuffed off, not the idiot that overloaded the truck.
Well we only have to pull the boat one last time so keep your fingers crossed. We got my truck licensed to pull 12000 so atleast we took that procotion. And Ted, did you pull that 12000 with that 318?
You need to look in to this. It will upgrade the front breaks to 2 piston and the rear 2 disk. And maroonmonster you need to watch yr self towing that carp. If you hit me I would have yr *** in court so fast. U know u need wide/overside load markings on yr truck and amber lights as well. It's new dot rules!!!

I'm sooooooooo glad you don't drive anywhere near me. A 1500 pulling 10k worth of boat? Looks like you're over the tongue weight, too.

Just think about it......Your GCVW is over 18,000pounds!!! That is wayyy too much weight for you to be hauling around in a 1500 360. The fact that your bed still aligns up with cab is amazing!

eh, i also forgot to mention, that accelration also sucked major nuts, i only pulled it from the CO-OP (bout 5 miles), and was limited to 25-30 (its a farm wagon like i said, them sombitches sway!!!)
did i forget to mention, i had to go get it, no option there, ive towed the same wagon with my dads truck, and it feels the same, and he's got a diesel, only thing thats better is accelration
um when pullin the wagon, i have the 4 ways on, and i doubt id hit you, people pass me pullin the thing (for dodge15005.94x4)
and yea i pulled it with the stock 318, ive only pulled it once, never again though, i hated how the wagon pushed and pulled the **** out of the truck on bumps (unless you have pulled a pin style hitch wagon, you'd not understand)
