I have true duals with high flow magnaflow cats and flowmaster 40's and over the axle out the side and they are loud as hell when you get in the throttle. If you don't want police attention don't go that route. I know most of the officers in my area as we all went to school together and I don't drive like a nut so I don't get harrassed but when I go out of the area I get looked at often.

Either a flowmaster 44 or 50 series would be the next two steps down in sound. they will give you some back pressure too.

i thought the new super 44's were supposed to be louder then the 40's i know my friend has a 318...5.2 with 2 single in dual outs and its dumped in front of the axle and its alot louder then the 40's he had..
but i prefer louder i gutted my stock cat and it goes strait back to a 90 and out infront of the tire.... people dont like it when i pass them on the highway lol... but anyways i am not 100% on that but i think 44's are louder

You know what your right I misspoke on that. The 44's are louder. The 50 series is quieter though. Alot quieter by the way if you go with the truck series muffler. I had one on another truck I had and it was just a tad louder than the stock muffler.

I run FM 40's on my truck now. For the first few months I wasn't impressed with it. There was a reason for that though. I am the only one that drives the truck. I got a call from a friend that was moving and needed a truck bed, so I let him borrow the truck. I told him when he got out on the road to go wot. I was impressed and finally figured out why so many people turn and look when I throw my foot in it.

The only thing I would recommend when installing this type of muffler would be to mount it/ them as far away from the cab of your truck as possible. If you dont, the drone will probably drive you nuts when you are in the truck with out the radio on.
Mine are almost touching the back axle. That way it's quite as a lamb in the cab.... except for the infamous Dodge "rattles"...

You know what Laramie that explains why they seem so loud to me in the truck. They are right under the back edge of the cab. I think I am gonna have em moved waaaaay back like you did. Thanks for the tip.

Not to hijack the thread much, but how do you like those Nitto tires? I'm looking at possibly doing them over the BFGs.

AHHH...you wanna talk about a loud muffler with a headache. I have my cat gutted with about 4 inches of pipe past that, and OMG its like a dam tornado around you in the cab...
