Default Small Lift

I've always wanted to put a lift kit on the truck but now that I work at a place that builds off road firefighting trucks (based on mainly ford F-350 to 550) I figured I ask my boss what kind of price he could get for my dodge.

What are my options out there with kits? I think I want an actual lift and not just a leveling kit as that wouldn't really do much. I'm thinking around a 3" lift. What should I be looking at for parts, cost wise? Just so I have some alternatives to compare to what he could get for me. I know theres a lot of things out there including ebay but I'm not up to date on the reliable ones.

Depending on brand 1000 to 2000 for parts, you may be able to find the kits cheaper but you get what you pay for. You can add roughly $100 per hour for a mechaninc to put it on for you.

These are just one brand.

There was a recent thread in the last two weeks on a Skyjacker 4" lift for 370.00 or close to that. It looked to have almost all of what you would need to complete the lift. It didn't include the pitman arm but it did have springs for the back instead of blocks.

i'm pretty sure that our dodge trucks come stock with somewhat or around a 3" lift installed already. so for you to notice a 3" lift from what you have already, you'd have to get a 6" total lift. it also depends on what you do to get the lift though. if you add leafs in the back and get coil spacers in the front, that will lift your truck as well.

i dont get it. an advertised 3" lift would be 3" over stock. the measurments are only different with offroad models.
