I drove it today around the block and now it slips in all gears, except reverse.i'm thinking about just going and buying a low mileage used transmission, i can get one with 75k miles for $500 as opposed to going to a tranny shop for a rebuild for ???? And brEAk down 2k miles later.

did a fluid and filter change, adjusted the bands, and in drive it will go but starts in second gear. if i start in 1st. gear then shift to d it goes fine. but my overdrive is off, the OD button on the dash stays lit even if i try to put the OD back on. here are my codes.

Man those bastards are sneaky.

Replace your governor pressure sensor and solenoid.

MonteC,

Would you mine writing a small tutorial on band adjustment? This procedure seems to get fouled up too often around here, and I think mostly because there is misinformation about how tight to go on the adjustment screw and then how many turns to back off it. According to some, the amount of back-off varies by year, which further adds to the problem.

Starting a new thread will help when I ask to have it linked to the DIY section.

Thanks.

Well, i dropped the pan again, changed the gov. Sensor and gov. Solenoid. I also changed the fluid and filter again. Reset the computer, but still the same thing. Put it in drive barely nudges forward, put it first take off then go to drive everything works perfect, i don't know what else to do?

After parking it for a while, the od light would shut off and the od would work, but when shifting into od it would shift a little weird.
