Im just giving ya crap, but sony isn't one of my favorite brands.
I can also see not wanting subs in a quad cab truck, but having back massagers in mine is pretty damn nice.
The older I get now, the more and more I start to rethink my setup. My next truck might not have woofers in it. I had the stero and and woofers installed within a month of owner ship of my truck (was 15), so when it came time to upgrade wall and door speakers, I picked ones that would compliment the subs. The Infinity speakers have a crazy amount of mid and high capacity, but very little low range capabilities. Pair them up with woofers and its a nice little thumping system.
Now for the redneck side of me to rear it's ugly head:
I remember my senior year of highschool, and I was asked by the student council if I would use my truck for audio at their end of the semester dance..... Just for the simple fact that it would out do all of the other DJs' systems that they called.
Oh, And I am kicking around the idea of adding yet another set of speakers for the dash..... Hint Hint

I'm not a Sony fan either (father was in the biz and they are Apple-like in their business practices), but this was the only unit I could find for the price ($160) with all these features. I was disappointed at first, but then I discovered that the stock Infinity amps were still hooked up and being overdriven to distortion. Once I eliminated them the system kicked *** and I decided a sub was not needed. The Dynamat in the doors really makes a difference to the bass response.
Here's a sad comparison: when I was a senior in high school 8-track was still the format of choice. Cassettes were just starting to make the scene.
