With the down fireing box, you get more low bass, I'm going for the heart stopping "thump". My 12" MTX was 400 watts RMS and I had it set up to reflect off the rear window, It would litterally blur your vission with the right bass notes. This time I want it so I can see it though. I likie to beable to vissually see when my sub is maxing out, just a habbit I've built up over my years of builbing stereos.

 

Seeing it wasn't as important to me, since it kinda kills 'stealth'...lol. Mine is set up for 350 rms. Love the low base kick, but my midrange base is a mess. Been advised I need to do better work on deadening my inner doors, so that's on my too do list.
