Default Replacing fuel line

I haven't actually gone underneath and looked, but I have a gas leak somewhere between the cab and box, along the frame rail.

Which is the best material to replace the stock line with? Rubber or metal? I'm pretty sure its the feed line- what diameter line would I need?

Oh its a 95 318 single cab longbox

Thanks!

The best material is a factory replacement. But for a quick fix, you can use gas hose and some clamps(only a temporary fix). But, you have to find the leak first. Maybe the hose on the fill tube is leaking or the fill tube itself is rotted.

Nope. The truck has been parked for 3 months with the tank on empty.

I've gone to a few parts suppliers in town and all of them have said factory replacement is too much money.

Anybody got a part number to the factory replacement? Just found a fuel leak on mine. Around the regulator. The connector that connects to the regulators nipple is leaking i think.

I just bought one from the dealer last year, and it was NOT alot of money. I don't remember what it cost, but it was very reasonable. It was not more than $50 dollars I remember that much.

I'm pretty sure it's just a 3/8 inch steel line (It was next to the brake line I just replaced). Should cost next to nothing to replace.

I was also told the supply line was 3/8. I priced lengths at like $3.50 each. And yeah I think mine is leaking right near where the brake line runs too.

My fuel line is on the way to the dealership. I should be driving my truck soon(i hope).. It was $46 for mine.

I have a very important question for the guy that ordered his, Does the fuel line come complete? Just take off the old and put on the new? Does it come with the peice to hook it to the fuel pressure regulator? Cause thats where mine is leaking. That connector is cracked on mine i believe.

Do you remember if it came with yours? Maybe its one whole peice. I dont know..

You should ask if the 4.7L flex fuel line fits, then you don't have to worry about the ethanol cracking the lines again.

The one I got was one piece from front to back. Connectors and all.
