ive had had my truck aligned once in 2 year, both sets of my tires have good wear patterns, nice n slow, like iron, and i drive the **** out of it and do some stupid stuff i prolly shouldn't

 

hey sungod, lets see your proof you have your truck aligned every 12k, or are you just making up some bull **** to **** us off

 

I can't even remember the last time I had my toe adjusted, and I have more than 10 years of sag. Realigning is painful and I'm not sure my HMO will cover it.

Seriously, I can't remember when my last alignment was, but it was at least 1 set of tires ago, which I had more then 12K on.
And +1 on the comments that the alignment is shot once you hit a curb (or a big rock).

ALWAYS use proper equipment, safety precautions and jacks/jackstands that are rated for the weight of the vehicle or higher.

Now that the legal stuff is over.
This particular kit costs $80.00, and took about 2 hours to install(with power and air tools)

Well first you're gonna need:

2 Jack Stands
1 Jack (obviously)
1 Set of SAE(Standard) sockets up to 3/4" atleast 3/8" Drive
1 Set of SAE Wrenches also up through 3/4" atleast 3/8" Drive
1 Ratchet atleast 3/8" Drive
1 Lug Wrench or equivelent
1 Torque Wrench capable of atleast 90 ft. lbs.
1 Tire Crayon or something to mark on metal
1 Adjustable Wrench
Of course you can't forget the leveling kit either.

First thing is to make sure you have all the parts.
There should be 2 Spacers, and 6 Nuts.



Jack the truck up, and support the FRAME with jack stands.

You can either use the front pumpkin(differencial) or the frame to jack it up.





Now take the lug nuts, and tires off.



Support the axle with a jack or other jack stands.



Unbolt the upper shock mounts. I had already started to unbolt it.


There are 2 ways to do this. This is the first one. you can use a 3/4" wrench, and an Adjustable Wrench.


Heres the second way, which I prefer.
On the under side of the shock mount theres a 3/4" nut that can be held while using a ratchet with a 3/4" socket on the top to unbolt it.





Now remove the lower shock mounting bolt. I already took the nut off. You don't have to hold the nut, it's got a metal tab that stops it from spinning.





Unbolt the shock tower and remove it, it's held down by three nuts. Then remove the shock.




Now mark the position of the spring on the spring mount, and the rubber insulator. do this on both the top, and the bottom.




Unbolt the Sway Bar end links from the top not the bottom and remove upper washer and bushing.




Here's the progress so far.




Now lower the axle to get the spring out.


To remove the factory shock tower bolts and the rubber isulator, just tap on the top of the bolts, and they will fall out.

To put the spacers in, we put the jack under the opposite side of the axle, and jacked it up to avoid having to unbolt the track bar. (i.e. jack up the driver side to put the passanger side spacer in.) Keep in mind you will have to compress the spring about 1/4" which is actually pretty easy with stock springs and 2 people.

To hold the spacers up, I used three of the nuts that came with them.

Before you jack the axle back up, make sure your marks all line up.




Now just reassemble everything.
*TIP* To get the sway bar bolted up again, jack the axle up, and line up the end links, then just jack it right back into place.

This will be your final product.





Enjoy your now leveled out ride.
Also keep in mind that you WILL have to get an alignment done at a local shop.

Judging by the front axle (lack of extra webbing) and no tow hooks, I'm guessing your truck is not the off road addition, you just have the wheels?

 

Jack stands are way over rated. When we did my lift it was old floor jack and stacking logs. Black yard car shop lol.
