Another power lock wiring question....
Hey everyone! First post for me - I've been gathering so much information that I haven't had time to post! Anyway, to the point.
I'm going to be installing a keyless entry on a 2001 1500. I have MANY wiring diagrams (13 different documents and links) and have perused through several install guides, tips, etc. I know what wires do what in the truck - not a problem. I also know what the wires do on my keyless system - great right? What I'm confused about is the type of wiring these 2nd gens use. From the research I've done, I've seen them called "The Chrysler 3/5 wire system", 5-wire, reverse polarity, 5 wire reverse, type c, type a, type c mixed with type a, and many others I can't remember at the moment. I've figured out everything except the door locks. If someone could just tell me with 100% certainty what type of wiring system they use in these, that would help me IMMENSELY with the install. I'm confused enough as it is with all the connections I'll be making. I looked in the service manual also and I think I got a little "teched" out and got even more confused.
I bought this truck new in 2001 without keyless entry and I've wanted it ever since. I finally have it and I need to install it! Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
Matt
