Default Dual Alternators project

i got my dual alternators put in i made a whole new bracket that went where the coil goes on the front of the block and i moved the coil over to the fender.
il post up some pix... i need to get around to uploading some system pix. but to go with the 2 alternators i ran 1/0 gauge wire and 2 - 1400 cca semi batteries (one is located in the toolbox... i got tools in there too ) also i work at a trucking shop.. so when they replace 1 battery they replace all 3.. so i just took the 2 that were good lol they didnt mind

What are you planning on adding that will need all that juice? For what you got now an alternator upgrade alone would suffice.

i think the mere idea of having two alternators is pretty bad a** anyway lol

wouldn't need a plow with a million strobes! lol maybe a couple million watt bulbs that would melt the snow!

well most systems only run 4 gauge so they only pull as much as they can get right now im running a alpine mrp1005 for the subs and a fosgate 250.2 for my highs with all 1/0 gauge wire ran everywhere and 2 1300 amp semi batteries (one is in the toolbox) so it can pull more than most systems... right now i am in the process of getting 2 more t1's and antoher mrp1005 and you need the alternators to put enough juice to keep the batteries properly charged right now i have 230 amps from my alts and im only pulling about 105 amps and when i do my next addition il be pulling a bit over 200 so with the subs going and headlights and ac blower on high and wat ever other lights or electrical may be going i still probably wont have enough lol. right now it stays right over 13V with the subs going... im working on a competition truck its the semi stock cause its not going to be past the rear window...no back seat.1 run of 1/0 2500 watt range 4 12's and im getting one of them deals that lincoln welders use to throttle up to keep it at a steady 2000 rpm while its playing right now im hitting a bit over 136 db hopefully when i get the others i hit atleast 145 which i can already win in my region but anyways thats why i need them

p.s. im going to borrow my gf's camera to upload some pix of the build so far

Well i have a 97 Dodge Dakota ex Cab 4x4 with 2 L7 15's and 2 1400 watt amps And four 2.o Cell caps... in the back and just a 1000 cold cranking battery from wal mart and it does just fine.. And it hit's at 168 DB's.. And it is all in the back seat.. And my Alternator does just fine.. Why dont you put a couple Cell cap's in and it will not drow so much from your Alternator..
