And a cooler a HUGE one on front of the rad and a filet and take out the check valve.

Hey Steel Horse. Do you have the title to your truck or does the dealership? If you don't have the title I wouldn't put not one penny into your truck till you get the financing taken care of. It would suck to put a couple grand in the trans and then have your truck reposessed. If you have the title and there is no lean on it then you are home free and lucky as a lark.

Yall are right, why spend 2 grand on to get it fixed when i can buy a new after market one for a another 1200. Well do i have 2 grand to spend right now, NO! Ok well i have to have my truck, its the only transportation i have. So im able to make payment plans with the shop. ok 1000 bucks a month i can do that. Couple years down the road ill go buy me a new tranny, noo big deal. And speeddemon31176 no i dont have the title. The dealer has it! Add a cooler?? what kind do yall recomend?

I don't think it matters so much what brand of cooler you get. If you put one on with a fan, that probably works best.

I agree with maintenance but you also need to baby them probably. I do my maintenance and still my trannies aren't lasting more than 100k miles. Every tranny shop I talk to say they were just weak. They wear out. If you tow, are in severe climates, rock it in the snow or mud, are hard on it at all, it wears out faster.

the aftermarket IS better, no doubt.
