Just make sure you sort out your truck payment stuff. Don't let that go just cause they aren't in business anymore. You don't want to wake up one morning with your truck gone cause the bank they used wants it back.

I need tranny work too. My shop quoted me $3500 for a Jasper. Whole thing and installed. 3y / 100,000 mile warranty. I'm not sure how I feel about that with as much money as this truck is costing me lately (about 4 months ago I put a new motor in it). But, I will probably do it. F! To have them or a tranny shop do a rebuild probably won't be as much but no warranty like that either. -depressed- I feel for ya man.

Just as a follow up. I just called ATS (local to me) and they build these trannys too. They don't sell them direct or off their site but they do build/rebuild them. They use a local shop down the road from them for installs. He said he could do it for $2500 - 2800 out the door. 3 yr / 150,000 mile.

So, a Jasper at the other shop out the door was $3500. An ATS out the door at this shop is $2800 tops. Just in case you want this guy's info for a tranny, it is Chuck at Chucks (or Trucks I couldn't understand) Transmission and Turbos 303-867-1000. They are in Arvada, CO. It has heavy duty converter and clutches and the famous ATS purple paint.

Ok, so the big question is, How to avoid having the tranny go out on you? Mine works fine, (knock on wood) so I would definitely be interested in any lessons you all have learned.
