I have a 2500 4x4 with the 360. I average around 11mpg. It dropped slightly after replacing the plenum gasket.

I have a 1500 360 4X4 and it averages WTF-city and OMG-hwy.

Actually mine is 10MPG no matter how I drive it. There's a thread here about replacing the MAP sensor so I'm going to try that and see if it improves things.

I have been getting 15 highway only, this week (318). And my new MAP sensor arrived today, but won't be able to check the mileage until Tuesday or Wednesday. Only thing I'll know this weekend is if it has a little more pep.

Are you 100% sure your speedo is correct?

Probably has something to do with dakotas weighing 1500 pounds or so less than 1500 rams

I didn't think they weighed that much more.

I had a 1995 Dakota 4x4 Extended Cab that weighed just over 4000 lbs with me in it. Ram 1500 Quad Cabs weigh what, 5200 lbs? I've seen several 4x4 regular cab short box trucks weigh in at around 4600 lbs, supposedly.

I guess the Dakotas are lower to the ground to, which helps.

The curb weight of a typical Ram is about 6-7000 lbs. They are heavy bishes.

Yep. I took it pretty easy that tank, I normally average 15-16 doing the same driving. It'll touch 20MPG and then some on the freeway.

Also besides the weight difference my truck also has a 5 speed which has a good advantage over the auto in fuel mileage. The roller rockers, manifold and exhaust also help it a little.
